I consider fashion design as a poetic language that enables the individual to confront the outside world in a constructive way, gaining individual but also collective freedom. I create collections that do not shy away from romantic, idealized stereotypes while simultaneously creating narratives that reject traditional identities that clothing can impose upon its wearer. Working with unconventional textiles, such as transparent tulle, knitted metalwork, and hemp, I criticize the authority of industrial, mass consumer production, creating personalized pieces that are presented in a variety of mediums. Deconstructing shapes of clothing into transformable and transgressive garments that are designed to be worn and used in multiple ways and for longer periods than seaons, I emphasize the endless ways in which garments can become new and different to the body of the wearer.
